You Story

I love reading stories , Fan fics, blogs, unreleased movie scripts, anything with a plot or tale to tell that is one of the main reasons I love this site so much.
But one of the main problems I have found is all of the best stories pop up on the smaller websites and go largely unknown by the masses and I now find most of my time is eat up checking blogs or RSS and googleing. And then it hit me why not have a youtube like website but for stories / series.

Before I invest Time and money I would like everyone elses thoughts on such a website.

So what do ya think?

I I can't help but make this joke. Allen-one, interesting idea produce a good looking pilot for the staff to see before it hits the web on a youtube like site. And once I know what the others think of it, I'll give permission if it's good.

No tron, I will never use your last name in here :salute: .

let me explain it a little better...

I would like a site where you can pick a category and search for a subject or just see what is the most popular at the moment.

and I am working on a pre-alpha testing version right now but it will be a couple days atleast before I can release anything that isn't a mess.

Systemcat you do realize I'm talking about a website and not a episode right? LOL [blinzel]

...And systemcat I too will never post your last name on this forum :salute:

Tron,
Are you talking about "reading" the story on YouTube or a website like that? Somewhat like an Alfred Hitchcock theme to it? You know where he stands there and tells you what's going on? Or are you talking more along the lines of audio vs. video?

I know that I'm asking a bunch of stuff. The reason that I'm asking is that I do run two websites that have their own storyline:

Quantum Leap: The Virtual Seasons This is it's 8th year to run. There are now 225 episodes up about how Dr. Sam Beckett is leaping from life to life putting things right that once were wrong.

Quantum Retribution It's on it's 4th year to run and there are at least 108 stories over there. It's the other side of the Quantum Leap coin. It's the Evil Leaper Complex: Project Alexander and how Lothos (the evil super-hybrid computer) is out to get the world and change history to his liking.

At the moment, I'm also working on doing an Audio -- a radio play -- for both sites. So, I'm somewhat understanding to some degree what you are talking about.

I think that it would be interesting to have a Buck Rogers Audio Play running out there somewhere ... that is IF that's what you are talking about when you mentioned a website like YouTube. Or, I could be totally off base.

Help me out and explain it a bit more.

You know... spell it out for me.

Thanks.

Sorry for the long delay, I spilled water on my keyboard and it hasn't worked since then. more drying time I suppose. :???:

Hawkfan,

Yes thats VERY similar to what I'm talking about. I wasn't aware that this site existed, thanks for the heads up.
The only difference I would have had is it wouldn't have just been fanfics it would have included blog stories, news stories, movie scripts but a combination of fanfiction.net and digg can take care of that :doubt:

...oh well

Well thanks for sharing your idea tron but it's a no go. Just don't want a site like that started up in connection with the 26th Century. I know you've said you want to do some thing for the 26th Century. Well I can only make software that's extensions end in .exe, which my FTP won't take. You program, do you have any software for making flash games? Make a good small flash game based off some thing in the series so far and it will be given the look over for the go or no go.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while my keyboard bit the dust and I had a filesystem problem so I lost all of my favorites and login info until I straightened everything out...

I was never asking for permission to create the site as it would have had no connection with the 26th Century unless the author of the story gave permission or it was a link.

And Yes I would be happy to make a flash game for you just PM the details

Just make up a game based off something in the series. You can program fast, I think you once told me you programmed a game in one night.
