Thanks guys :).

Well there weren't many people in panel room one while this was going on but there was an interest in the film. One person approached me the next day in the morning asking me about it. ..I don't think these people were expecting to be asked if they had any questions over the film but every one of them got one of the forum fliers and I mentioned how the production crew would like feedback & you were a forum member, Jess.

I think I should state this report unlike the last two is very video focused. So as people watch the video, that's as the convention moved along. When I was having the computer take information from the camera the camera's batteries went out so not every thing is on my hard drive yet for editing, Now I know I said I'd be using the tripod while filming but it was too much of a pain to carry around. I can stand really still when I need to and be graceful when need be, no worries ;).

Not much happened Friday that didn't get on camera but for the first time in ages I got invited to a party in one of the hotel's rooms. A Star Trek "Risa" themed party. I left that party really fast! Details of this party from it's look shall remain offline but the photos I feel are ok for this place.

Two people that I've never met before greeted me by my user name of systemcat. Out of the blue :o, how they knew who I was is beyond me. But it was cool and I chatted with them.

Now as I was leaving Friday I caught sight of a battle with the use of fake weapons on the main floor. That was the final video of the night.

I should note to keep continuity straight over the evening. Being identified by my user name twice happened before the Risa party.

Going to take a little break from the report now but I'd like to add. The interview did happen :D. When I get the footage which I should note is with thanks to Screengeeks.com, I'll be posting the one on one I had with William Katt 8).

Wow. From the photographs, the StarFest appeared to be a very fun event. I hope that your interview with William Katt went well, as did the trip as a whole. I hope you had a wonderful time. :)

You guys make it sound like I'm done with my report, there's lots more to come ;). Last night I started a project file in Movie Edit Pro. over the footage I took at this. With all the video not being fully uploaded yet, it comes out to over and hour and 20 minutes. I feel I must apologize over a little of the video through when it comes in & for the fact it can't be readjusted to look better. There was a lady dressed as the beast used by Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back. I turned the camera on it's side to get her in full and I didn't think about how that would come across on video. She was dressed as another beast later, just as well detailed and once more I made the same camera mistake. So Miss if your reading this report, I'm sorry :(.

Here's some more photos while I do some work.

The next morning I packed up the car with all the essentials needed for the convention, same as the day before only now a couple extras.

You see having to make this move coming up I have to get rid of a lot of my things. The three long boxes that make up the bulk of my comic book collection were put in the day before. This day I put my Laserdisc player and it's movies in the car. The dealer that sold me the Laserdisc the first year at the con. was also at the convention last year so I made a bet he'd be there this year and I was right. We agreed on a price the day before & he said he'd take them when I brought them in. I got ten dollars more than we had first talked about :).

For the first time at Starfest I sat in on a Horrorfest panel. This panel being watching the trailer for 'Daher Vs. Gacy with Ethan Phillips and Jed Rowen there to talk about it. Very funny and I think it's a shame it's meant to be a straight the DVD release. I think every body that watched it laughed, Ethan Phillips has a very distinct sounding laugh. They noted to us that it had been filmed in a dirty environment & joked it was done on a high budget. The Phillips's character having an obsession with corn had been meant as a joke to either the film's producer or director but the suggestion had been taken seriously. And on set a massive pile of corn was delivered to be used in the movie. The killer "cobs" people to death.

A lot of wandering took place & video taping to boot. At one point sat in on one of Marc Gunn's concerts. Yes another of the Gunn clan 8). Julia Phillips was at the convention again too and this time she did a bit for video. Got three of Marc Gunn's songs on tape. Got two of his CDs on bargain.

4:30pm was when the interview took place with Katt. You guys know I've interviewed people before. Well this being the first live interview I practiced for it while waiting. The interview didn't go that bad. Questions had to be skipped but it all went cool. Now when people watch this interview they'll notice he wasn't too wild about being asked about Bone Eater. We chatted outside the interview room as to that afterwords. He knows now because of that I think he does good work. Mentioned about how I had picked up season one of The Greatest American Hero after it had first been a library rental. Chatted about the braking into the comic biz and he gave some good advice for the artist who wants to brake in to it.

For the costume contest every body entering it, we were told to enter the hotel's gym at 7:00pm to be shorted & wait for it to begin. We waited longer than expected. Robert Picardo apparently really got into his singing for the House Call event by about 15 minutes extra I think. It was the House Call event that had the same use of the main auditorium also meant for the contest. At one point while waiting with the other contestants early on, Brent Spiner came passing through and gave a hi to us because that was his route out from his Q & A session. Actually talked with him more than once. Friday while taking his picture and ensuring him my camera was only set to take a picture and not video. And then on Sunday in one of the hotel's elevators. I had gone to the model room to interview Vern for the videos & Spiner got in at one point while we went down to the base floor. First the junior group had their time on stage, followed by the horror group and then fantasy which was the group I was in. The staff put me at the head of the group. Now if any video was recorded of what I did on stage I can explain. Acted like a wild, nutty animal on purpose but not knowing where I should be that wasn't part of the act. I had a black material mask covering my face and I could barely see what was going on around me. At one point the announcer had to point me in the direction of the judges since my vision was so impaired. People in the afterwords knew there was an act going on, just not that I couldn't see what was going on. They liked it, I didn't win but at least it was entertaining for those watching :).

Left the convention for the night after the contest was over and by then the weather was much nicer than it had been earlier which made driving home easier. The night before there had been very thick fog.

Here are the links for the first three videos. All together is the best way to watch this, there are ten 8). You guys might want to watch these back to back as they come online.

Looks like it was lot of fun.
I kinda wish the video had had more audience though.
They could have letterboxed to fit their 4:3 screen.
Oh well.

Thanks for filming it all.

Rats, just lost every thing since the spell checker wasn't on.

I'll post a better reply tomorrow. Why nothing was posted today is because I've been getting ready for the move and YouTube takes forever for uploading the videos.

Here's two more. Please note, I consider video 4 to be racy to this forum. PG-13.

Well the weather did stink, Friday night, first night of the convention and driving in the dark. If it wasn't for those factors I think more people would have been there. Actually I'm the one remember who made the DVD, they played it how I made it and better. On the TV it had an issue with lines corrupting scenes with virtually any movement. On the big screen this didn't show up. Thank goodness.

More of the report will be posted later. Still uploading all the videos to YouTube and I have to edit over 200 pictures for forum posting.

next time we gotta order good weather with our showings. :P

They should have had a setting to play 16:9 or they could have told us they wanted 4:3 then I would have shot it in 4:3. But enough complaining.

All's well. :)

I haven't watched the videos yet, but I did see all the pictures. How much film did you end up going through at the end of all this? :)

Hi Erin, I haven't had time to watch the videos yet, but I enjoyed reading your reports and looking at the pictures. Thanks for those! You've sure been a busy bee. It looks and sounds like you had big fun there.
