Armageddon 2419 A.D to be posted

Postby systemcat » Wed Sep 19, 2007 1:35 am

Thanks to a very cheap book store, Armageddon 2419 A.D is going to be posted some time within the next few weeks. This will be on the Extra Media page. Question for you guys, this is going to take a while to scan in. Do you want it in small PDFs till it's fully scanned in and then a full PDF? Or wait till it's all been scanned in and just post the one large PDF?

I have the book now and it's been scanned in all the way into the third chapter so far. But it can't be posted till it's been cleared legally. Sorry for saying it will be posted. Sent off a very formal looking letter to "Wizards of the Coast" asking for permission and hopefully I'll know by some time next week.

For any one who doesn't know what Wizards of the Coast is. They're not only the copyright holder to Buck Rogers novels / Amazing Stories but the owners of Dungeons & Dragons.

Ah, I used to play D&D. Actually, Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, to be accurate. To be totally accurate, I shouldn't say, "used to", but more like "just trying to find time again since it's been about a year and a half!"

What a wonderful way to spend time. (Sorry, waxing nostalgic here.) ;)

It's ok HP :)

Played D&D briefly at a gaming shop in their backroom with a group years ago. Had to stop because I didn't have the time for it. Tried to get back into playing offline RPGs last year but the group broke up just before I joined :(.

And now an up date on the book, I've scanned in most of it now.

Everybody cross your fingers permission is given to post this. ( Hard to believe there isn't a smilie for that :geek: ).

I just talked on the phone with a person at Wizards of the Coast. He told me they no longer hold the copy right to all Buck Rogers novels. He said the copy right to those is now at his best guess is currently held by the Nowlan family.

I'm giving up on this now. Years ago I tried to track down the copy right holders to a computer game named Interbank Incident so I could make a sequel to it. This track down of information lasted for months. The company who made it is no longer around. I found the email address to a man whose name is the same as one of the programmers who made the software. Turns out it was just another person with the same name. It's a pain in the butt tracking down people to ask about old copy rights, I'm sorry guys :( .

It's okay Erin. You tried and that's the main thing.
